Come along and explore the fascinating world of drypoint printmaking! Our course is led by Jeannelise Edelsten, a professional printmaker with years of experience. Jeannelise will guide you through each step, ensuring you develop the necessary skills and techniques to create outstanding prints. Week 1: Introduction and Mark Making During the first week of the course, you will learn the basics of drypoint printmaking, including various mark-making techniques, scratches, and resist materials. This foundation will set the stage for your artistic journey. Week 2: Portrait and Tonal Value In the second week, you will have the opportunity to plan and draw an easy portrait, allowing you to explore tonal value and create depth in your artwork. Discover the power of shading and learn to bring your subjects to life. Week 3: Nature and Color Week three will focus on drawing something from nature to explore chine colle and color. Learn how to incorporate vibrant hues into your prints and add a touch of nature's beauty to your artwork. Unleash your creativity by combining techniques and elements. Week 4: Final Project During the fourth week, you will start working on your final project. Draw up your design and incorporate all the techniques you have learned onto the printing plate. This is the moment to showcase your skills and create a masterpiece that reflects your unique style. Week 5: Printing and Gilding In the last week of the course, you will be printing your final piece and discover the art of gilding. Expanding your knowledge and put the finishing touches on your stunning prints.
